N.S.S.

About National Service Scheme (NSS):

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) aims at involving the youth in the service of the community. Young men who give their time, talent and energy to voluntary social work get a feeling of being useful to the community. It will train them to fulfil their social responsibility as citizens. N.S.S. is education through service. The experience of coming into close contact with the poorer section of the society and of trying to solve their problems will be very valuable.

The primary objective of NSS is to instil a sense of social responsibility among students by offering practical exposure to community service. It helps young volunteers develop leadership skills, empathy, and a spirit of selfless service, shaping them into responsible citizens.

NSS functions on the principle of “Not Me, But You,” emphasizing the importance of working for the betterment of society.
